Here are the coordinates for eight points on the coordinate plane (q > p > 0): A (0, 0), B (p, 0), C (q, 0), D (p + q, 0), E (0, q), F (p, q), G (q, q), and H (p + q, q). Which four points, if any, are on the vertices of a rectangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. A, B, F, and E c. D, C, E, and G b. C, E, F, and G d. F, E, D, and C are the answers

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

If you think about a rectangle, the vertices will have one of a few properties. They will share points on lines that are parallel and perpendicular to each other. That is easier to show in a drawing than words.|dw:1370290501824:dw|So, do you have points that could be used to describe something like one of those two situations?
