A

OpenStudy (andriod09):

Welcome to Open Study! I believe that the answer would be C. Violent independence protests in colonized nations spread to European continent, because World War I was started due to the fact that the worlds military powers were competing to colonize Africa. I would disagree with @andriod09 because if we look back to the start of World War I we see that it all started with a murder of a military leader of a small nation which many of us have not heard of. Even though the country was small and weak they had military alliances with strong nations. When that small nation blamed another country war erupted.

OpenStudy (andriod09):

From my personal notes, this is what I have on the subject: Franz Ferdinand and his wife were killed in Sarajevo, the capital of the Austro-Hungarian province of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by a Serbian man called Gavrilo Princip a member of the Black Hand, a group who wanted to kill Francis Ferdinand who survived other assassination attempts. Austria attacked Serbia and then called Germany to help them. Germany invaded Serbia. Russia and Serbia were allies, so Russia protected Serbia. Germany invaded Belgium in order to gain access to France, funds, weapons, soldiers, oil and metals to construct vehicles England and Belgium were allies, so England went to France to attack the German in Belgium. Britain called the countries in the British Empire to help them. See how this worked? It was the colonization of Africa that brought the American's into the Allied forces along with the Soviet Union, which was was after this matter, after they decided to compete for Africa.

Well if you look at your notes you forgot one key fact. That fact os that the nations had alliances together that caused World War II. If it were not for Austria's alliance with Germany than Germany would have never joined. Also you even said Russia and Serbia were allies.
