What is not true of a scientific law? It must be verified by scientists around the world. It attempts to explain why things happen. It describes what happens in the world around us. It must be supported by many independent scientific investigations.
A law in science is a generalized rule to explain a body of observations in the form of a verbal or mathematical statement. Scientific laws imply a cause and effect between the observed elements and must always apply under the same conditions. Scientific laws do not try to explain the 'why' the observed event happens, but only that the event actually occurs the same way over and over.
It attempts to explain why things happen is not true. Scientific law explains that an even occurs the same way over and over again.
In other words, the second choice is your answer. :)
another? Observation and experimentation have led many scientists to accept a theory about the origin of the universe. This theory is called the Big Bang Theory. Scientific evidence collected and observed by scientists around the world suggests that the universe is ever expanding from a hot and dense initial state. What makes this a scientific theory? It has been proven by several scientists independently, resulting in its being accepted as truth. It is based on the beliefs and opinions of the majority of the scientific community. It is an observation of the natural world that has been proven as fact. It is the best explanation that scientists can offer, based on many scientific investigations. :)
A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. If there is enough evidence to support the hypothesis, it moves to the next step—known as a theory—in the scientific method and becomes accepted as a valid explanation of an occurrence. I would have to guess the last option. Because a scientific theory involves many scientific investigations or tests in order to gather enough evidence to become a theory. A theory is not a fact, but more along the lines of an idea
How the universe was created? i.e. The Big Bang is their best explanation as to why we are all here. :)
A scientist in Italy published his findings from a scientific investigation that he conducted. Other scientists from around the world conducted similar investigations to test the results. All of the investigations result in similar findings. What does this say about the findings of these investigations? They have been proven to be scientific fact because all the investigations gave similar findings. The findings are automatically promoted to a law because they were proven by so many scientists. They are ready to be published in the media and in text books as a new scientific theory. The results are considered more reliable because they were documented by separate investigations. THANKS!
hmmm... This one is a little tricky. Many of the answers are so close to being the same that it is hard to tell.
Alright, this is what I think: It's not the second choice. I don't think it could be promoted to a law just because they have been proven by so many other scientists. hmm.. my GUESS would be the last choice. When so many other scientists prove the same thing, I would consider it much more reliable information. But in order for it to become a fact or a law, I would guess that it would have to go under more observation.
That was mine too:) thanks again!
No problem! :)
Which of the following is not an example of kinetic energy? mechanical energy nuclear energy electrical energy thermal energy
Mechanical energy can be either kinetic energy (energy of motion) or potential energy (stored energy of position).
so we can rule that one out...
Nuclear energy, provides the energy released from nuclear fission and nuclear fusion processes. The result of both these processes are nuclei in which the more-optimal size of the nucleus allows the nuclear force (which is opposed by the electromagnetic force) to bind nuclear particles more tightly together than before the reaction. Thus making this potential energy.
Nuclear energy is your answer. It does not involve kinetic energy at all but involves only potential energy.
