Simplify each expression. State any excluded values. x^2 + 6x + 9 / 5x + 15 I have trouble simplifying expressions. I don't know where to start. Help!

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well look at factoring the numerator and denominator \[\frac{(x + 3)^2}{5(x + 3)}\] so you need to look at the value you can exclude in the denominator its found by solving x + 3 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The top part would be \[{ x + 9 }\] right? So, what's the other?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

x+9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you questioning my answer or..? I really don't understand.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

what is the x+9 for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, 3^2 is 9 right?
