A musical piece based on a minor scale will have a bright, cheerful sound. true or false
true
That would be false. If it was major scale, it would sound cheerful and bright. A minor scale makes it sound sad and more mysterious/dark. You see, if you listen to this song : http://youtu.be/_P65WNm48p0?t=2s (just listen the first 30 seconds), you can see how it sounds sadder than this: http://youtu.be/2Sb8WCPjPDs?t=36s (start this one at 0:36) Can you tell how the first one, with a minor scale, sounds sadder and almost more heavy than the second major piece, that sounds cheery and bright? Gotta love Tchaikovsky :) I hope this helps!
Flase! Minor scales are kind of.. dismal sounding, you know? A piece based on a major scale would be much more bright and cheerful. :)
False. Like everyone else said, a minor scale is more dark, and a Major scale is more cheerful and bright. A way to remember this is to know that sad songs are typically written over minor scales, and all the happy songs on the radio are typically written on Major scales. Hope this helps! :)
faalllseeee, these are your sharps and flats not the melodic sounds of the whole notes. thats why a minor scale is called a minor scale, its not used as much as the major scales, there are 12 of these and about 4 or 5 minor scales. you usualy not required to learn them in music class or anthing. theyre not important and not in high demand. when you hear a singer hit a bad note, it sounds bad because they have jumped from major to minor, or " swithced key"
Not if burzum is playing that said melody :P
