OpenStudy (espex):

Are you asked to solve for k?

OpenStudy (espex):

@Jhannybean watch your mixing of variables and please help them find the answer and not rush to it.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Oh, my bad,. let's try it again then.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

distribute the 5 into (k-2) \[\large 5(k)-(5)(2)-8k=-34\]simplify and combine like terms. these termsare \[\large \color{green}{5k}-(5)(2)-\color{green}{8k}=-34\] what do you get when you multiply 5*2? and when you combine (5k) and (-8k) ?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Wasnt trying to give the answer.
