Medal for anyone who can help me with this! Darrel is making arrangements to pick up a client at the airport. Airport taxi chargers $6.00, plus $0.50 per kilometer. Airport Limo chargers a flat rate of $40 for its limousine service. a) Write a system of equations that describes the cost of the taxi and the limousine. b) Solve the system you wrote in part (a) c) Explain what the solution to the system represents. d) Darrel is trying to decide whether the taxi or the limousine is cheaper. What advice would you give to Darrell? Thanks in advance!
if you put say \(C\) as the cost, and \(k\) as the kilometers travelled, then the cost of the taxi is \[C=6+.5k\] and the cost of the limo is \(C=40\)
to solve the "system" put \[6+.5k=40\] and solve for \(k\) in two steps a) subtract 6 from both sides b) divide by \(.5\) which is the same as multiplying by 2
