Hey, Well heres the definition of a misnomer: "A wrong or inaccurate use of a name or term" and an informal amendment is: "An "informal amendment" is a change to the meaning or interpretation of the Constitution of the United States." So knowing that, does it give you an idea of why an informal amendment is a misnomer?

nformal amendment is a misnomer because there is no way to unofficially modify the Constitution, only the formal way. but the meaning of the Constitution, or the explanation, can be altered over time.
