What is the Law of Segragation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The law of segregation states that during meiosis (creation of gametes), the two alleles of a gene seperate. So if the alleles were Aa, "A" would go into one gamete and "a" would go into another.

OpenStudy (shee):

members of a pair of homologous chromosomes separate during the formation of gametes and are distributed to different gametes so that every gamete receives only one member of the pair
