sound wave X has intensity 10^12 times greater than that of sound wave Y. by how much is the amplitude of X greater than that of amplitude Y ?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

The intensity is proportional to the square of the amplitude. If the intensity of sound wave X is 10^12 times greater than the intensity of sound wave Y the amplitude of X is greater than Y by the following amount: \[\sqrt{10^{12}}\]
