Why do people post so many math questions under Writing? I don't get it. :/

Perhaps because they're new. In most cases, members who have just joined often post in the wrong section. They don't fully know the ropes of this site yet, including how to change the subject they're studying.

It's obvious that you would get a better chance of getting a good answer if you posted your question in the appropriate section, so I doubt they do it on purpose.

I agree with you @Sofnu 
you are asking why people are putting questions in the incorrect categories. well, you are doing the same. The best thing you could do to make some people stop is call them out on it. then maybe they will realize how this website works or how whenever they do that, someone will call them out on it, and it may get on their nerves that people do that so they will avoid the recognition of doing it by stopping.
