Solve the inequality and type the solution in interval notation. No spaces! -25 ≤ -3x - 4<-13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add 4 both side then divide by -3 and switch the signs

hero (hero):

That's the easy way to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the hard way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what should i do

OpenStudy (espex):

@deme1999 has laid out the instructions for you, which step is causing confusion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aw ok i thought there was more than one way to do this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so when i e last part i take 3 from both sides?

hero (hero):

@kidkush24, I didn't exactly post my steps for you.

hero (hero):

I don't want to confuse you bro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's all good man i would like to see the step so that i can try for myself

OpenStudy (espex):

Why not roll back to the original question, -25 ≤ -3x - 4<-13, and start to isolate 'x'. Keeping in mind that what you do to the right you must also do to the left, what is your first step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would add 4 to both sides and then divide by -3 correct?

OpenStudy (espex):

Correct, remember that when you divide an inequality by a negative number you must switch their direction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then what wouldi do next

OpenStudy (espex):

After doing those two steps you are done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright ill need to write that done you sir and hero are heroes :)

OpenStudy (espex):

:) Good luck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
