There are two purposes for this problem: 1) See if you can ignore the triangle on the top. It is a superfluous smoke screen and does not help solve the problem. 2) See if you remember the relationships of the 45-45-90 right triangle. It's just \(\dfrac{18}{\sqrt{2}}\). You may wish to "simplify".
