Jay finds a texting plan that costs a flat fee of $15 per month for 100 texts, plus $.25 per text after that. Which cost function represents this scenario if x equals the number of texts exceeding 100 that Jay sends in a month?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well the "flat fee" is a constant...it will always be there. the .25 per text after that...is a variable...because we don't know how many texts Jay will send.... So we would have C = .25t + 15 where 't' would represent how many texts he sends after 100
