can you please help me with this problem? Plot the points M(-2,5) N(4,5) 0(7,1) P (-5,1) A.Find its area and perimeter B. How long is the median xy of MNOP?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Thoughts can you pleasse help me?

OpenStudy (reemii):

did you plot them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Detect the figure whether it is parallelogram , rectangle , square or any other one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ITS A TRAPEZOID

OpenStudy (reemii):

it seems this figure would be at least a trapezium.. then there's a formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trapezium or trapezoid?

OpenStudy (reemii):

google "area of trapezium". and you'll have your question almost answered.

OpenStudy (reemii):

or just http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapezoid#Area and seems like trapezium and trapezoid are the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@reemii how about the median?

OpenStudy (reemii):

|dw:1370438787066:dw| is it not the average of the length of the two bases?

OpenStudy (reemii):

lenghts*

OpenStudy (reemii):

if you don't know about that (consquence of thales thm i guess), you could still find it by first finding the coordinates of x and y :|dw:1370438932224:dw| and then computing the norm of (x - y). but the first method is just simpler.
