If there is a background radiation of 15 cpm how does that help me "interpret" my measurements of radiation?

15 counts per minute... i guess they're asking if they're high or low?

if the background accounts for 15cpm, then any reading must be significantly higher than 15cpm in order to be considered a "valid" reading
