Which of the following is the best definition of reflection?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no options in the question, even then, definition of reflection can be given as the change in direction of a wavefront at an interface between two different media so that the wavefront returns into the medium from which it originated. Common examples include the reflection of light, sound and water waves. The law of reflection says that for specular reflection the angle at which the wave is incident on the surface equals the angle at which it is reflected.

I would like to give you the simplest definition which you would easily understand . The reflection of light can be said as the bouncing back of the light beams when they touch any smooth or a rough surface . When they touch some smooth surface then their is regular reflection and when they touch a rough surface then there is irregular reflection.Hope this helps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
