Will give medal. PLEEEASEE HELLPPP MEE!! Which of the following postulates can be used to prove the two triangles below are similar? Answers, AA SAS SSS SSA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mertsj):

You have three postulates for proving triangles similar: AA, SAS, and SSS Pick the one(s) that apply.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not sure how? Please explain. Thanks

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Find the third angle of the first triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 12. Is that right

OpenStudy (mertsj):

How did you get 12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180-55-23=102. I meant 102

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Are the triangles similar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no there not

OpenStudy (mertsj):

That is correct. But you should write "no they're not."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. So which postulate is it??

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If they are not similar, how can you prove they are similar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well i have to enter one of those answers.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Then you have posted the problem incorrectly.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I agree with Mertsj The two triangles aren't similar, so there should be that option

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

but if you didn't know that and wanted to prove they were (or weren't), then you have 2 angles (which you can use to find the third missing angle easily) so that means you use the AA similarity theorem to show if they're similar or not the question is oddly worded, but I think that's what they meant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea Jim u got it. Thanks
