17 + x > -2 in set notation? x > -19 subtract 17 from both sides \[x \in R,x > -19 \in Solution\]
R represents real numbers
so just subtract 17 from both sides and thats it?
yes just solve the equation for x and place in set form

What ever you do to one side of an equation you must do to the other to maintain the equality x/4 >8 4(x/4)>8(4) x>32
If Multiplying/Dividing by a negative number change inequality -1 < 1 1 > -1 multiplied by -1 there changed inequality
