what is classical mechanics ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Classical mechanics could be described as a way of describing our understanding of the physical world up to the beginning of the 20th century. With regards to subjects like projectile motion, and kinematics, it describes the way forces act upon macroscopic objects. This differs from our understanding of Quantum Mechanics, which is a description of the motion of objects at extremely small scales.

to add to rpetron,in classical mechanics the speed is much lower than the speed of light and the mass is near to that of the things we experience in our day to day activities
