(x+4)(y-2)
1. Split the equation into (xy+4y) + (-2x-8). 2. Then, factor out the y value out of xy + 4y so that it becomes (y)(x+4) 3. factor out the -2 value out of (-2x-8) so that it becomes (-2)(x+4) 4. Your equation can be rewritten as (y((x+4) + (-2)(x+4) 5. This simplifies to (y-2)(x+4) Hope this was helpful :)
