A quick function test is called "the vertical line test." If you draw a vertical line on the graph and that vertical line hits two points on the curve, then it is NOT a function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now knowing this what do you think the answer is to the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one c is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C can't be doesnt it hit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rameez786cool is incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

who?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now for the second one, think about what the vertical line test is. If it hits two points then those points have the same "x" value but different "y" values. So look for points that meet this characteristic and that is NOT a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 is D, correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY! Ok I will try the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the second one b is the option

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't give answers @rameez786cool . @Yolo4mecuite does A have any of the same x values with different y's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey chmE iam trying yar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No it has similar y's and x's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C!! That one doesn't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is asking for which one is not a function.
