A box contains 20 marbles. 5 of the marbles are blue, and 10 of the marbles are red. What percentage of the marbles in the box are either red or blue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If a box contains 20 marbles and 10 are red and 5 are blue that only makes 15 marbles.... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are there more colors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's really the point. 15 of the marbles are either red or blue...out of 20 total marbles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If not then you should get the answer by adding 5/20 and 10/20 together... I'm not sure if that's correct but I think it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it multiple choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, what is 15/20 in percent form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It helps to put it in decimal form first. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

75 I think..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

75 is correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
