solve; \[4w-\frac{ 1 }{ 3}(3w-6)=tw-6\]
what are we solving for t or w
Didnt mean to put a t
oh ok! so what is the fist thing that come to mind when a problem says solve for a variable?
when solving an equation for a variable, you should think , i have to put my variable into one side of the equals sign and the rest of the stuff on the other side
so in your case everything that has a w in it should go in the left hand side, and everything else in the right hand side. Be very careful breaking the parenthesis wen you do this...
i will get you started and then you tell me what to do next ok? so what i have done i have distributed the 1/3 into the parenthesis this is so we dont have parenthesis in our equation \[4w-w-2=w-6\]
now, we want all the thing with the variable w on one side, i will choose the left side since it is the one that has more w's. So what can you do to the right hand side of the equals sign so that the is now's in there? remember we want all w's to be in the right hand side...
