STUDY GUIDE HELP PLEASE what values for θ(0<θ<2pi) satisfy the equation? 3 sinθ= sin θ -1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Hint: 3 sinθ= sin θ -1 3 sinθ - sin θ = -1 2sinθ = -1 sinθ = -1/2

@jim_thompson5910 would the answer be pi/3 , 5 pi/3??

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

let me check

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no that's not correct, look at the unit circle and find angles where the y coordinate is -1/2

@jim_thompson5910 @comeonskinnylove I got pi/6 , 3pi/6?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

use this unit circle http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/math/algtrig/ATT5/600px-Unit_circle_angles_svg.jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7pi/6 and 11pi/6

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

nice catch, yes FutureMathProfessor got it
