OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

Simplify 2^log2(5x)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

2^log_2(5x) = 5x

OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

a^log_a(x) = x

hartnn (hartnn):

if you don't want to use that property u can also prove that 2^log_2(5x) = 5x

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

2^log_2(5x) = y take log_2 of both sides log2(5x) = log2(y) 5x = y

hartnn (hartnn):

like that ^

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

if you need to prove it...make a note that log(x) is injective. not sure how much you need to say.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

or raise each side to the exponent of base 2...

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

log2(5x) = log2(y) 2^log2(5x) =2^log2(y) ---> 5x=y

OpenStudy (wesdg1978):

Awesome, thanks for your help!
