Find the trigonometric function for the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hartnn (hartnn):

you will need 3 things, Amplitude Period Phase shift which of these could you not find ?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

what is the period and amplitude and midline first?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

midline is trivial...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know any. Is it possible for the amplitude to be negative? my first guess was amp: -1 but would that be -cos or cos^-1 or is that even right? WHO KNOWS, I'm just over my head in this department

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

no, its the absolute value.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

but if you said amplitude of -2 we would just assume you mean 2, they are the same thing...sort of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so F(x) = cos got that much then :)
