I am looking for people who think they are mature, resourceful, who abide by the CoC and who are good at organization, coding (not necessary but useful) and who can be On Call when needed. Again let me clarify, the group I am making is only going to organize the "hackathon" those with me will not participate in it (unless you want to) but will help me organize the "hackathon" with the help of Madam Preetha. Folks, I asked JA1 to help organize a hackathon for OpenStudy. He needs help from all of you - so be kind. Saso you are an OS veteran, please help him. Saifoo, hba, ash, aravind you folks are all wonderful resources. What would it look like? How could we pull this off virtually? What can we build that would be of use? Ja1 is leading it - but he needs a team. Lets put our egos on the shelf and work together - as a team. Define hackathon.... What level of experience is required? As far as I can tell, half of the people mentioned on here have 0 to very little programming knowledge.

To avoid chat spam, we could implement a timer, which would not let you post say 5 messages in 10 seconds; and to avoid 2 words per chat or per post we could implement another validation check that runs on browsers, and would probably reduce spam

Proxies are pretty easy - just keep a blacklist that gets autoupdated from some site with latest proxies. I'm sure there's a lot of freeware out there that lets you do that.

I know some coding, by no means a true programmer (but I am learning more), have been involved in more than one project team as part of my job, I have been not only a proponent of the CoC but also encouraged its refinement as situations develop, I reported a number of bugs I found here, and I see the items of focus discussed above as being key issues that need to be addressed.

Well, the ban/suspension should be taken away from the community I think Only the ambassadors should have that right we've already had a ambassador banned because of this ban because the community didnt like that he was chosen for ambassador take that ban away from the community if something is going on the community needs to contact the ambassadors then if it is something that needs more than 24 hours the ambassadors will contact a MOD.
