Hi! How many carbon atoms does a glucose 'ring' have?? I have been told 5! Where does the sixth one go?

There are six carbons in glucose ring. You have been told wrong.
why is that so?

It is because on edges on the ring is a oxygen. So the ring consist of 5 carbon and 1 oxygen.
also demonstrated here in the following attachment.

You are right when you say there are 5 carbon in the ring, but we say it is a 6 membered ring :)
