As AC=BC, C is the midpoint. So AC+BC=AB. As C is midpoint AC=BC. Which implies AC+AC=AB. Therefore 2AC=AB. So, we can conclude that AC=1/2AB ( By transposing the 2 in the LHS to RHS. Cheers. :D
