If f(x)=x^2+3x+5, what is f(-1)?

Plug in -1 for the x and do it!!
I did but the answer in the back of my textbook was wrong so I want to make sure I got the right answer.
Okay, let's go step by step then. Step 1... :-) What's -1^2 ?
plug in -1 into all the x's. so itd be \[-1^2+3(-1)+5\]
so itd be 3
