OpenStudy (anonymous):
They often must adhere to a western style economy to be considered developed. They must participate in a free-trade agreement with other nations to be considered developed. They exist only in North America and Europe and are not inclusive of other parts of the world. They ignore key environmental issues whereas developing nations do not.
