So I need a bit of help. I am a bit confuzzled...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you calculate a series in a calculator? For example: \[S _{n} = {n^2 - n}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli @AravindG @saifoo.khan @satellite73 @jim_thompson5910 @experimentX @.Sam. @UnkleRhaukus @whpalmer4 @RadEn @thomaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean, a summation or just a series

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is n, S_n there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and calculator model and what you're trying to do with it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n is the total number of terms, S_n is the sum of n terms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example, with the example I just wrote, like can you put it in a calculator and find out the first five terms of the sequence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you got a ti 84?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got a Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphics Calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

input x^2 -x as a graph then hit 2nd+graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i wanted to see if it worked on a scientific calculator such as a Casio fx-115 PLUS or any type of model like that sort.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, unfamiliar with other models you could just manually calculate the terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yeah i know how to do it manually :) wait so how would you do with the ti 84 though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

quickest way would just to hit y= then type x^2 -x then hit 2nd + graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you would not know how to do this with any other type of model? or just a scientific calculator? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont believe it possible with an ordinary scientific calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okay thank you for the assistance :D and for your time (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob
