Explain how xylem and phloem relate to sap production.

There are 2 types of sap: xylem sap and phloem sap. -Xylem sap is water with dissolved minerals and nutrients which is absorbed by the roots of the plant. It is transported from the roots to the shoots. -Phloem sap is also water but this type has a lot of dissolved sugar (sucrose), made in the process of photosynthesis in the leaves. It is transported from the leaves to the rest of the plant.
