refraction is a measure of the ----- as a wave passes from the midium to another. a)velocity b)frequency c)wavelenght d)displacement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is A. Velocity The speed that the wave is traveling changes as it refracts (either increases as it enters a medium with a lower refractive index; or decreases as it enters a medium with a higher refractive index). At the same time, the wavelength changes (increases or decreases proportionally) depending on the change in the wave's velocity. So basically, The wavelength is dependant on the velocity.

@Ashmin , how sure are you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The frequency remains constant. according to the wave equation, v (speed/velocity) = λf (wavelength times frequency), wavelength and frequency have inverse relationship. This means, one should change if one quantity changes
