i want to study introduction to program in basic, please i need help.need some one to teach me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why not 'take' the MIT OCW course and learn computer science using Python? Python is pretty easy to learn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. how. can you help me with all the program knowlage. am just a beginner. don"t know programming yet. please help me sir

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The course is designed for non-programmers for 'freshman' engineering/science students - you have to be motivated and work a lot on your own - you may need to spend a lot of time figuring things out for yourself which would include searching for answers. You can always ask questions here - you might have to wait for a response tho'. The 'readings' in the 2008 course are excellent resources. The Python Tutorial in the documentation is an excellent resource. Read the readings and be sure to practice all examples given in the readings - not only pracatice but 'play around with' the ideas being presnted - make up your own examples. Get used to looking for stuff in the Python documentation - become familiar with the Python documentation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. how can i locate this document?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where is the tutorial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is an on-line version http://docs.python.org/2.7/

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

http://mechanicalmooc.org/ Is another good option. It uses some of the MIT stuff, Open Study, and Code Academy all together to get people into programming.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, that looks interesting

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try the Google 2-day course in Python: https://developers.google.com/edu/python/ By the way, by "in basic" I hope you don't mean the programming language called BASIC.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't knock basic - its also easy to learn and become productive - ever tried vb.net?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@jsfloyd For someone who wants to learn to program, the Google 2-day course in Python is not a good choice. You have to know what variables, iterators, and so on are just to understand what they say in the lectures. Now, if you have had any intro to programming class in any language, that course will get you up to speed on Python in a very short period of time. It just skips all the terminology lessons a beginner needs. And if you want to see the potential of BASIC, look at Radio Mobile Deluxe, a program written entirely in BASIC that is a very powerful path calculator for commercial radio systems. In fact, the term BASIC is almost not applicable any more. It should be APSIC these days.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick, where can i down load this book for program in basic

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@emekaojei No clue. I took a class in VB, and used the book for the course. I did a quick search and found this: http://www.basicbook.org/ Have not looked at it, so do not know about the quality.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks man

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have the basic installed now but will like you to help me out in programming sr
