Grade 12 Vector's help please! Find a normal to the plane x+2y+2z-5=0

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

I know that m = (1,2,2) and that (1,2,2) DOT (x,y,z) should = 0 but then I am stuck.

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Thank you for helping me in advanced by the way

OpenStudy (loser66):

what is m?

OpenStudy (loser66):

why do you have to dot with x,y ,z?

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

the slope? No? I dot it because if the product is 0 it means i foudn the perpindicular line

OpenStudy (loser66):

to me, the normal vector of the plane is <1,2,2>, done

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Oh, you're right! Wow... Is this because when it's written in scalar form it's already using the normals?

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

@Loser66? Also, thank you :-)

OpenStudy (loser66):

yeap
