Need help with LCD? 1/6,5/8 finding the LCD is what multiply the same number in the denominator. Would 2 be the LCD?

The lowest common denominator is the lowest number that 8 and 6 will both go into.
8 : 8,16,24,32
6 : 6,12,18,24
Now what is the lowest number that each of these two numbers, 6 and 8 will go into ? The answer is 24. So the lowest common denominator is 24.
What you did was find the lowest multiple, not denominator.
