In a triangle, what is true about the slopes of the midsegment and non-intersecting side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you imagine a triangle, the slopes of the midsegment and non-intersecting sides are equal. The mid segment that joins the midpoints of 2 sides is equal to (parallel) the third side. Therefore, since parallel lines have the same slope, the slopes of the midsegment and non-intersecting sides are the equal.
