Mrs. Suarez bought 3 pairs of jeans and 5 shirts for $441. If each pair of jeans cost 2/3 as much as each shirt, what was the price of each pair of jeans?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

j = jeans s = shirts 3j + 5s = 441 j = 2/3s now sub 2/3s in for j and solve for s. once you have s, sub it into the 1st equation and then you can solve for j. Do you understand ? Can you take it fro here ?
