how would u think box and whisker plots be use in the real world

to be honest, there are much faster and better ways to do it by computer these days; i can't really imagine a situation where you'll be without one (like the unrealistic scenario of being stranded or an apocalypse; but you'll have more important things to worry about than the median).

Sometimes teachers may use it to curve grades, assuming they refuse to use a computer or any more modern method.
