Human sacrifice in the major civilizations of Meso and South America was widely spread. It was a way to celebrate. Humans were sacrificed on each of eighteen festivities, one festivity for each of their 20-day months. Though it was desputed at one point, it was defended by the aztec. Stating how the gods sacrificed themselves and due to the life they were given, it was only right to sacrifice a human.
