Please HELP! Evaluate this statement as true or false: “The skeletal system is a rigid, lifeless support system for the rest of the body.” Defend your answer.
Although bone may appear to be rigid and lifeless it is actually living tissue that is capable of growth. Unlike soft tissues, bone cannot simply grow by adding additional cells and removing cells that are no longer necessary. The calcium laid down in bone gives the skeleton the strength and rigidity needed to protect and support the body. The rigidity means that expansion requires addition of cells on the outside and, when necessary, the removal of calcium and other material on the inside.' found it online : http://glencoe.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0076629449/student_view0/chapter7/bone_growth_in_width.html also http://www.trivology.com/articles/1635/what-is-the-skeletal-system.html

I have another question @HELPKP
k
How do the structures labeled A and B in Figure 30-7 make the small intestines specially adapted for absorption of nutrients?
not that good at science i found this online 'a' is the vill:i As in other parts of the small intestine, digestion and absorption are maximized by the large surface area conferred by the presence of villi. The villi are composed mainly of columnar epithelial cells, each of which is covered with many microvilli to increase cell absorption (not seen). Globlet cells are present among the epithelial cells (not seen). They secrete mucus that lubricates the lining of the intest' http://www.astrographics.com/GalleryPrintsIndex/GP2134.html
Awesome, I have one more.
In the figure, how does structure D help the body maintain homeostasis?
thats a sweat gland (still found it online: http://www.slideshare.net/sacklax40/homeostasis-presentation) it aids in homeostasis by helpping with temperature regulation, sensery reception and other thing its shown on the slide show.
