Describe whether the following qualities are important to autobiography and biography.

Autobiographies and biographies must be non-fictional. The purpose of these two genres is to provide facts to people in order to gain information or to be studied for later use. If these genres contained large amounts of fiction than they would no longer be considered biographies or research material. They would have no purpose besides being entertainment (ex. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter).

Biographies are considered secondary resources. The live of a person being researched and explained by someone else. They examine the subject's life and legacy toward history. Many are usually persuasive.

Autobiographies are formal and researched books about the author's life. They provide a glimpse into their thought process as they write about their own life and what they feel is their contribution to history. These are primary resources and help bring a "spark" to research papers. They usually contain more biases than a biography but are still important.
