How did trading influence medieval europe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Spread of ideas-Interaction with different nations allowed Europeans to gain more information about the outside world. Discoveries could now be shared and added upon. The creation of the printing press in 1450 was also quite a nice bonus for them. 2. Exploration-When introduced to all the new possible ways they could get money through trade, Europeans were quite willing to push their religious beliefs aside. When Europeans discovered gems and spices during the Crusades they wanted more and knew the upper-class would pay a pretty good sum for it. Trade expanded, port cities were created, and explorers began searching for the quickest routes to the Orient.
