The Korean War begin by the U.S not fighting to keep South Korea and the Soviet Union helped North Korea do a suprised attack on South Korea on June 25, 1950 and quickly took over much of the country. The United Nations commander was General Douglas McArthur. The war ended in a stalemate. Korea remained a divided land. July 1953, finally signed an armtice ending the war.
