Lotions applied during winter season moisturize the skin very quickly. What could be the reason for this?

the air is typically "drier" in most climates in winter, so as such tends to withdraw moisture from peoples skin (also the reason cracked lips occur more often in winter) Hence, winter skin is often lacking in moisture, so absorbs lotion much faster when applied.
