A specific mutation in a certain animal leads to abnormal development of the heart and kidney, resulting in miscarriage. Why did this happen?
\(\Huge\bf Welcome~to~ \color{#00B4ff}{Open}\\ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\Huge\bf\color{#7cc517}{Study~!!}~\) Probably because the piece of DNA that needs to be expressed in the heart cells doesn't work properly.
Mutations.
a mutation can come in many forms (point mutations, frame shift, chromosomal) and likely the protein that was significant for the function of both the heart and kidney was abnormal. I have no idea what properties of the heart and kidney this protein would be coding for, since these two tissue are quite different, but I would ask you to speculate on that. Cheers!
