What is the key cell surface molecule that initiates the respiratory burst?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

principal opsonins that coat bacteria are igG immunoglobulins and complement proteins. .the coated bacteria then bind to g protein coupled receptors on neutrophil cell membrane.this triggers increased motor activity of cell exocytosis and the so called respiratory burst.

ganong pge 68 24th edition.....does examiner mean exocytosis or g protein receptors in cell membrane ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Blood coagulation would be the answer for if you would be discussing neutrophils.

I looked this up because I had no idea what a respiratory burst (a rapid immune response to bacteria/fungi) was! Indeed Shawn123 is right on the money
