Translate this problem to an equation and solve. If a number is subtracted from its square, the result is 2. Find the number. @tcarroll010

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Let \(x\) be the number. Then the square of the number is \(x^2\) and our equation is \[x^2-x=2\]

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You should be able to figure that out without any algebra if you think about it for a moment...
